The best preserved Greek
temples outside Greece date back to the 7th century BC and belonged
to the town of Poseidon. In the Museum one can admire the rare
examples of Greek and pre-Roman art, not to be missed is the unique
tomb paintings discovered in the area.
Their location in the southern part of the gulf of Salerno means
a 2hr journey, therefore a full-day tour is recommended.
We would
suggest a stop for a light lunch and enjoy the famous mozzarella
cheese where it is produced. On return, even a stop at the resort
of Vietri sul Mare noted for its ceramic production.
An official Tour Guide (for the archeaological site), can be arranged
on request. |
